Polartec Power DryPolartec® Power Dry® is a moisture wicking next-to-skin base layer fabric that wicks by construction. Polartec® Power Dry® was created to give base fabrics greater efficiency, more dependable wicking properties, faster dry times and better overall performance. Not all base fabrics are created equal, and many can only provide temporary wicking chemistry that fades and weakens with every wash. By designing mechanical wicking fabric with our patented bi-component construction we invented a superior base material that pulls moisture from the skin, expands for faster evaporation and lasts the life of the fabric. HOW IT WORKS Polartec® Power Dry® pulls moisture directly from the skin and transfers it to the outer surface to quickly dissipate. This continuous evaporation process helps to keep you cool (as your body heat increases) and warm (when temperatures begin to drop). By physically embedding these wicking capabilities into the fabric structure, Polartec® Power Dry® doesn’t rely on chemical fiber treatments to transfer moisture. Chemical approaches to managing saturation only provide a temporary solution that can wash away and leave you with a base fabric that doesn't perform.The technology used to control moisture is the highest priority for base layers and next-to-skin surfaces. Sweat and moisture vapor must be in a constant state of flux to ensure the fabric doesn't become saturated and lose performance characteristics. This is why Polartec® Power Dry® is engineered with our patented bi-component knit construction to enhance drying capabilities across the entire fabric structure. This dual surface approach maximizes performance by mechanically wicking sweat and vapor off your skin and directly transferring it to the outer surface where it diffuses for quick dry times. |

Polartec Power GridPolartec® Power Grid™ was created to push the performance of our base fabric technologies even further. By developing a patented grid design structure we discovered a new way to reduce fabric weight while increasing warmth and compressibility in the process. This grid construction enhances both wicking efficiency and breathability by generating channels of targeted touch points that absorb and diffuse moisture vapor for faster evaporation. BEST USES Enhanced lightweight moisture wicking next-to-skin base BENEFITS
HOW IT WORKS Open air channels surrounding each individual segment of grid allow Polartec® Power Grid™ to easily release all excess body heat as it builds during activity. These breathable air channels create space for greater compression capabilities when needing to pack or store materials with limited room. Providing maximum warmth from minimal weight reduces your body's overall exertion during movement and activity. This composite engineering approach wicks faster than traditional base fabric materials and avoids using chemical wicking agents that fade away with time. |

TECHNOLOGY The ability to maximize base efficiency through enhanced performance benefits is central to the design of Polartec® Power Grid™ fabric. By constructing a symmetrical grid pattern we were able to not only increase thermal warmth and mechanical wicking capabilities, but actually reduce the overall fabric mass and weight. The patented bi-component construction utilizes a different length of yarn on each side of the fabric to optimize wicking action and evaporation. This dual surface approach allows moisture to be continuously pulled from your skin and diffused to the outside. The exterior layer then spreads the moisture out to a wider surface area for faster evaporation. |
Polartec Power StretchPolartec® Power Stretch® was developed to expand our base fabric's durability and range of motion. The majority of elastic base materials can stretch during movement, but lack the tensile strength to recover their original shape and become permanently damaged. By utilizing elastic fibers with enhanced resilience in our stretch construction we made a performance-fit base fabric that can handle the pressure of demanding physical activities. BEST USES Moisture wicking elastic performance-fit base BENEFITS
HOW IT WORKS Polartec® Power Stretch® has the ability to retain warmth without restricting movement or agility during activities. The outer surface has a low-friction finish that reduces irritation when worn with other fabrics and increases overall abrasion resistance. The next-to-skin layer stays dry, breathable and comfortable by continuously transferring moisture vapor for rapid evaporation. This versatility provides flexible support and warmth for reliable comfort in any fitness based activity. Polartec® Power Stretch® wicks moisture like a base material, but can handle direct exposure to the elements when necessary. |

TECHNOLOGY Stretch fabrics need dependable strength properties to consistently recover their original form after being pushed and pulled during activity. If an elastic fabric structure is overstretched it becomes permanently damaged and loses the ability to regain its original shape and performance qualities. This is why Polartec® Power Stretch® is engineered with tensile resilience as a key feature of its construction. The next-to-skin surface keeps you warm and dry through touch points that diffuse and evaporate vapor moisture in the outer layer. Reinforced elastic fibers ensure the fabric consistently rebounds after every stretch. |
Power Stretch ProPolartec® Power Stretch® Pro™ is engineered to push the performance of our base stretch fabrics even further. By reinforcing the elastic fibers on the exterior surface we enhanced the overall 4-way stretch for more support and stability during movement. This unique construction allows for increased resistance and durability against the elements without sacrificing breathability or comfort. BEST USES BENEFITS

Polartec Power WoolPolartec® Power Wool™ is a design breakthrough for combining the distinct advantages of natural and synthetic fibers in a bi-component fabric. The industry standard of blending different yarns into a mixed composition reduces the intended benefits and hampers overall fabric performance. By isolating a merino wool interior and a synthetic fiber exterior we developed a hybrid fabric with distinct surface features to optimize wicking, breathability, odor resistance and durability. BEST USES Moisture wicking order resistant next-to-skin base BENEFITS Superior wicking action Merino wool is inherently resilient due to a cortex of intricate filaments that give the fiber its soft crimp. By adding resilient synthetic fibers in the bi-component construction we further enhance the overall tensile stability and resistance to abrasive surfaces. Polartec® Power Wool™ adapts to such divergent conditions that it can excel during a wide variety of performance activities and diverse environmental conditions. This performance ability to balance both breathability and warmth provides consistent comfort at all times. |
||
|
|
|
TECHNOLOGY Combining merino and synthetic fibers in our patented hybrid construction enhances the performance benefits of each fiber while resolving many flaws of traditional blends. Wool's natural odor fighting properties are given a boost, and the unpredictability of shrinking and shape loss caused from washing is prevented through the resilience of synthetics. Wool fibers offer increased base comfort by retaining insulation and breathability even when wet. Their absorbent nature pulls moisture vapor away from your skin, transferring it to the outer synthetic layer where it expands and evaporates more quickly. This mechanical wicking action allows Polartec® Power Wool™ to keep moisture in motion at all times. |
