The term "Crank Forward Bike" was developed by bicycle manufacturer RAN's Inc. to describe a category of bicycles with a crank that is set in front of the seat, resulting in a "semi- recumbent" riding position that allows the rider's feet to touch the ground while sitting in the seat. This style of bike is also referred to as an "Easy Bike", "EZB's", "Flat Foot Bike", "Laid Back Bike", "Semi-recumbent Bike", "Semi-bent Bike" and "Ground-Reach Bike".
